A beauty product I never ever skip when leaving the house is mascara. I have no problem at all with going out without any makeup on, but mascara is something I never skip. It doesn’t take very long to put on and it makes such a difference in my opinion! So that’s why I love trying out new mascara’s. Let’s check out my thought on this new beauty by Catrice, shall we? ^^
Een beauty product dat ik echt nooit oversla wanneer ik het huis uit moet, is mascara. Ik heb totaal geen moeite om zonder makeup naar buiten te gaan, maar mascara is toch iets dat ik nooit oversla. Het duurt niet lang om aan te brengen, maar het maakt zo’n groot verschil vind ik zelf! En dat is ook de reden waarom ik graag nieuwe mascara’s uittest. Laten we eens kijken wat ik van deze nieuwe beauty van Catrice vind! ^^
When I first saw this brush, I instantly though of Maybelline’s The Falsies Flared, which is my favorite drugstore mascara so far. I’ve repurchased that one, so I think that says enough, since I normally son’t repurchase a lot just because I like trying out new things. So because this brush looks so alike, I wanted to see whether this would be a good dupe or not.
Toen ik het borsteltje voor het eerst zag, deed het mij onmiddellijk denken aan Maybelline’s The Falsies Flared, mijn favoriete drugstore mascara tot nu toe. Ik heb deze al meerdere malen gekocht, wat veel zegt aangezien ik dat niet vaak doe omdat ik graag nieuwe producten uitprobeer. En omdat dit borsteltje er zo hard op leek, wou ik eens kijken of dit een dupe zou kunnen zijn.
As you can see, it’s a fiber brush (is that what you call these? Versus the rubberized wands? :D) that’s slightly curved. I like brushes that are curved because in my opinion they help to get you lashes curled too.
Zoals je kan zien is het een borsteltje dat lichtjes gebogen is. Dat vind ik meestal wel leuk omdat dat volgens mij je wimpers mooi krult
On the next two pictures you can see what my lashes look like without any mascara on. They aren’t extremely long or curled on their own, but I don’t think I have to complain about them either. :p
Op de volgende twee foto’s kan je mijn wimpers zonder mascara zien. Ze zijn niet superlang of gekruld, maar ik kan ook niet echt klagen. :p
On the next two pictures I’m wearing just one coat of the mascara. I seriously love the way just one coat of this makes my lashes look! They are beautifully curled and lengthened, and the volume isn’t bad either! I could stop after just one coat and be done!
Op de volgende twee foto’s draag ik één laagje mascara. Ik hou echt van hoe slechts één laagje mijn wimpers eruit doet zien! Ze zijn mooi gekruld en verlengd, en het volume mag er ook wel zijn! Ik zou hier al kunnen stoppen vind ik zelf!
But I still wanted to see the effect of two coats too, so take a look at the next two pictures! The volume is perfect after two coats in my opinion. I was really blown away by this mascara. Keep in mind that this is one by one of the cheapest drugstore brands, Catrice! It’s only something like €3, you can’t go wrong, right!
Toch wou ik ook graag het effect van een tweede laagje zien, dus kijk even verder naar de volgende twee foto’s! Het volume is voor mij perfect na twee laagjes. Ik was echt verbaasd over deze mascara. Hou in gedachten dat deze maar iets van een €3 euro kost, dat is sowieso al geweldig!
So I wore this mascara for a complete day and here is my verdict. Overall I really, really like this mascara, especially when you consider the price! It did not flake on me at all, it gives a lot of volume after just one coat, but you can build it up if you want and it lengthens and curls beautifully. It does what I want a mascara to do and I don’t have to layer it with other ones, which is great!
Ik droeg de mascara de rest van de dag en hier is mijn uiteindelijke verdict. Over het algemeen vind ik dit echt een heel fijne mascara, vooral als je in gedachten houd dat hij zo goedkoop is! Hij bladerde niet af op mijn gezicht (of hoe zeg je dat :D), geeft veel volume zelfs al na één laagje, maar je kan hem gerust opbouwen als je dat wil en hij verlengt en krult prachtig. Hij doet wat ik wil van een mascara en ik vind het niet nodig om hem met andere mascaras te combineren, wat super is!
I do have a few downsides to this mascara too, but for the price I can deal with those. What I’m talking about is that you have to be careful when applying a second coat, because it could get a little clumpy. Another minor downside is that this mascara doesn’t dry very fast.
Toch zijn er ook enkele minpuntjes aan deze mascara, maar voor de prijs kan ik hier wel over kijken. De minpuntjes die ik bedoel zijn dat je bij het tweede laagje wel voorzichtig moet zijn, want er zouden klontjes kunnen ontstaan, en dat de mascara niet zo snel droogt.
At the end of the day, I would definitely repurchase this mascara. It’s become one of my go to mascaras and I’m very happy with the way it makes my lashes look!
Uiteindelijk zou ik deze mascara zeker opnieuw kopen. Het is één van mijn go to mascaras geworden en ik ben erg blij over hoe hij mijn wimpers eruit laat zien!
